// Why we built it
Keeping up with the news often means juggling twenty tabs, scattered RSS feeds and live sites. VibeDeck started as a monitoring app for journalists: everything you follow on one screen, without what you read ever leaving your machine.
// How it works
- Each panel is either a Feed, which merges several sources into one timeline, or a Web page, which keeps a live stream, a site or a tool visible inside the app.
- Panels sit side by side or stacked, and you resize and rearrange them with the mouse or the keyboard, across up to nine tabs.
- Thirty publications are recognized out of the box, twenty French and ten English-language, and any RSS, Atom or sitemap feed can be added from a single URL.
- New stories land at the top without moving what you are reading, and each one is marked new, seen or opened.
- Search works offline across every feed, combining keywords with local semantic search.
// Who it's for
For journalists, monitoring teams and anyone who follows the news closely. VibeDeck is free, open source under the MIT license, and available for macOS and Windows. Everything is stored locally in SQLite: no account, no cloud, no data collection.
