An alert that explains itself.
Based on the Quivr docs’ example: following a harbour strike.
"harbour strike" AND (ferry OR port)Harbour strike halts the ferry
Watching for matches…
“harbour strike” and “ferry” in the title and body

Frequently asked questions
What does Quivr do for me, in plain words?
It keeps every article, email and post, even when a service goes down, and keeps the earlier version when one is corrected. It lets you search by meaning, not just keywords, and shows the exact passage. And it tells your app when a new article matches a topic you described, with the reason it matched.
What is under the hood?
A Go engine, one binary for the API, the worker and migrations, on PostgreSQL, S3-compatible storage and Temporal. Search runs on Weaviate, by keyword and by vector, with multilingual E5 embeddings. It exposes an HTTP API (v0), signed webhooks, a change feed (polling or SSE) and MCP for AI agents.
What happened to Quivr V1?
Quivr V2 replaced the V1 code base on the main branch. V1 is preserved at the v1-final tag, the last commit of Quivr V1, so you can still read, fork or run it from there.
What is Quivr's license?
MIT. It is free to use, modify and self-host. Some plugins rely on libraries with their own license, such as pypdf (BSD-3-Clause) for the PDF plugin.
Can I use Quivr V2 in production?
Not yet. Quivr V2 is at the evaluation stage and its API is v0, which may change without notice. Try it on your machine with the Quickstart, and talk to us if you want to plan a production rollout.
Can I host Quivr myself?
Yes. Quivr runs on servers you control, next to your application: one machine with Docker Compose to evaluate it, or a deployment with separate workers and a dedicated vector host. By default, Quivr itself sends document text nowhere outside your installation.
Where can I get help?
For questions and bugs, use the issues and discussions of the GitHub repository. For business plugins, planning a production rollout, or hosting that works to HDS requirements for health data, The Vibe Company can help as a service: book a call.
